eBay Make Up Brushes- Real Techniques Dupes

1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6

I love the Real Techniques brushes but lets face it, everyone only buys the core collection for the buffing brush, possibly the contour brush, but no one wants to pay £21.99 for basically one brush.

Don't fret, eBays got it covered. Brushes 1 and 2 in the post are basically dupes for the stippling brush and the buffing brush and work just as well, they wash amazingly, theres no fall out and they are only like £2! I've mentioned these brushes before on an eBay wishlist, and I still stand by what I said, I LOVE these! The only downside is they come from China so take like 6 weeks come, so I usually order a few at one time.

After such a good experience with these brushes I decided to order some more foundation brushes and some eye brushes. The eye brushes are amazing! The eyeliner brush can get a few bristles bent out after a while but for less that £1 you can't really complain. I ordered a few and use them for gel eyeliner, smudging eyeliner and if i run eye shadow threw my brows. AMAZING. I've not has chance to use my blending eye shadow brush yet, but it feels such nice quality so I think it will be fine.

Brushes 3 and 4, I intended on using as base brushes but they definitely weren't what I expected. Brush 3 is super dense and so doesn't really move to fit the face when i'm buffing my foundation in but its super good for stippling on blusher/bronzer if you just want it in one place. Brush 4 however is rubbish, i don't know what i'm going to use it for, it feels super synthetic, don't get it.

All in all I love eBay brushes and will continue to buy them.

Sorry for the lack of outfit posts recently, i'm attempting to write a dissertation and its ruining my life.

Never a Wasted Product

Seventeen Phwoarr Paint Concealer - Fair

It's not very often I buy a beauty product I don't like as I always do so much research, but sometimes i'm in Boots and the 3 for 2 draws me in and I panic and pick up what I think I want. Case in point; these two products.
(FYI this post is not about making use of the buffing brush, I LOVE that)

The Bourjois Happy Light Foundation had a lot of rave reviews and with my skin getting a lot better recently I thought its 'low-medium coverage and dewy glow' would be perfect for me!
It's not that I don't like the foundation, but I brought it far too dark for my skin tone (I think even two shades lighter would have been better). I don't know why I convince myself when i'm shopping a darker foundation will just 'give me a glow', instead i just end up looking dirty.

I put this to the back of my draw hoping that MAYBE a bit more of a tan may make it more wearable, but on every application it just didn't quite look right.

Then a few months later I purchased this Seventeen concealer. I'd seen a few reviews saying it was really good and I wanted something to brighten under my eyes so I brought it in the lightest shade. However on first application I found it just didn't do it for my, it creased and definitely didn't make me look like Kim K like I was hoping! Being too light for my face, I thought this would be another product I'd end up trying to make work before eventually admitting defeat and giving to a pal.

HOWEVER, after struggling with both, I had a brain wave to mix them together, making a lighter coloured foundation that wouldn't make me look like i'd very badly applied fake tan.

I simply swirl my buffing brush a few times in my concealer and then (after dotting foundation on my face) buff it in with my foundation. I find this lightens the tone of my foundation, slightly heightens coverage but still gives the glow from the Happy Light foundation.

Using these two together gives such a nice finish to the skin and now I have two less products to add to my 'why did I even buy this list'!

eBay Wishlist #106

If you can't tell im OBSESSED with finding the perfect pair of black platform ankle boots, i almost feel like these are it but postage is almost as much as the shoes so they'll be staying firmly on the wishlist for the minute.
I've almost used up the last of my current pot of coconut oil, and although its not expensive for what you get, I was browsing eBay and spotted this for half the price! I haven;t tried it yet but it seems like the real deal so as soon as i'm in need of a new pot i'll be purchasing this for hair masks/cleansing and various other DIY beauty projects.

L'oreal True Match Foundation

I have absolutly no will power when I see bloggers rave about a certain product, especially if it's from the drug store.
The latest of which has been this true match foundation from L'oreal, (RRP£9.99). This has been labeled the dupe for Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk foundation (I think L'oreal own Armani).
Some times when I see these coveted products i'm like how good can they be?

I actually saw my sister had this and talked her into letting me have it, the shade range is amazing, and the finish...

It's probably medium coverage but leaves such a nice glow to the skin, i literally put this on and i'm ready to go. I haven't found any other foundation that gives me such a natural 'glow from within' as well as a nice coverage.

I know there has been numerous reviews on this product but it is as good as everyone claimes,

If your in the market for a new foundation, you need this in your life!

I Still Need You

Top (similar), Jacket, Ring - Primark
Skirt - Thrifted (similar)
Nails - Barry M, Lychee

I actually wore this last week when it was super sunny but didn't post the photos. So I had to dash to get dressed for my housemate to take them today before they left, hence the half done make up. I brought this skirt for £3 thinking how comfy it would be, even though it's a tad granny but now i'm OBSESSED with it, its super floaty and summery.
As it's get a bit warmer i've brought out this tasseled jacket I got from Primark for £10 in the sale last year, I feel a bit like a cowboy but I forget how much I love it.
These nails were inspired by Nouvelle Daily there just about starting to chip but I don't want to take them off :(

Don't Know What I Might Do

Jacket,Shirt - Thrifted
Jeans, Shoes - Primark
Lips - Revlon Matte Balms, Mischievous

THE SUN IS OUT! Although it is slightly depressing when it so lovely outside and you're meant to be sat in the library writing a dissertation on soils.
Although the sun is out and I am prepared to get my bikini and sunglasses out, the fact it is still March is a slight reality check. This outfit is my favourite primark jeans, I've had them for a year and they are only just starting to wear out but I CANNOT find the same pair anywhere, paired with a few charity shop items I picked up last year.
The black short was an absalute steal at £1.50 and fits better than any Topshop shirts I own, I think the brand is Berkertex, which my mum informs me is a pretty expensive old lady brand!
I always forget I have this jacket but it fit so well with everything, I saw it in a charity shop but didn't get it as I was trying to cut back on spending, then I get home and it was all I could think about so I had to get up early the next morning to get it.
I'm currently sat in a skirt and crop top staring outside attempting to write uni work, the sun does no do a lot for motivation.
